Ryan Gosling Describes His “Perfect Day” To GQ Australia As Knitting An “Off-Putting Scarf”
Ryan Gosling knows how to keep you warm at night.
When the sexy 32-year-old star of the blockbuster hit Gangster Squad isn’t busy filming movies or breaking up fights on the streets of New York City, he relaxes while doing his favorite activity and it’s not what you might expect. The former Mickey Mouse Mouseketeer who starred in the Disney television series alongside Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Christina Aguilera and graces the February/March 2013 issue of GQ Australia, admits that he loves to knit. It’s a skill that he acquired from the “old ladies” on set while filming 2007′s Lars And The Real Girl.
“I did this scene in Lars and the Real Girl where I was in a room full of old ladies who were knitting, and it was an all-day scene, so they showed me how,” he revealed to the magazine. “It was one of the most relaxing days of my life. If I had to design my perfect day, that would be it. And you get something out of it at the end. You get a nice present. For someone who wants an oddly shaped, off-putting scarf.”
Besides winter accessories, the actor’s other obsessions include detectives and fast food restaurants. “When I was a kid I was kind of obsessed with that movie Dick Tracy,” he recalled. “Burger King had all this Dick Tracy stuff and I collected all of it, and I had the posters and I watched it on a loop. Obviously [Gangster Squad] is a very different movie, but it seemed to have some of the sensibilities of that. So that was fun for me.”
