San Francisco 49ers Open Up As Four-Point Favorites In All-Harbaugh Super Bowl
The Number Two seed San Francisco 49ers have opened up as four-point favorites over the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII — also known as ‘The Har-bowl’ since brothers Jim and John Harbaugh will be coaching against one another.
Earlier on Sunday, the 49ers overcame a 17-0 deficit against the Atlanta Falcons to earn their first Super Bowl birth in nearly two decades with a 28-24 victory on the road. Later on, the Baltimore Ravens entered the game as 9.5 point underdogs but upended the New England Patriots with a score of 28-13. Now we will get to see a sibling rivalry as Jim Harbaugh’s Niners and John Harbaugh’s Ravens will bump heads in the champion.
A good day for the Harbaugh family.
The Niners opened the season as 17-1 favorites to win the Super Bowl. However, that was with Alex Smith at quarterback; emerging star Colin Kaepernick is now under center. Meanwhile, the Ravens started as 14-1 favorites to win the Super Bowl. With Ray Lewis‘ last season looming large, this game has a ton of sentimental value. But let’s not forget that Randy Moss may also be playing his last game and the 49ers will look to get one of the best WR in the league a ring.
The 49ers are going after their sixth championship in six tries. Their last coming in 1994 when they destroyed the San Diego Chargers by 23 points, covering the 18.5 points they were favored by. This will be Baltimore’s second Super Bowl appearance as they will be back for the first time since beating the New York Giants back in 2000.
Surely, there is a lot on the line in two weeks. Do you agree that the 49ers are the favorite?
