Taylor Swift Lets Down Her Hair As Rapunzel For Disney Parks’ Dream Portrait Series
Taylor Swift was “taylor”-made for her latest campaign.
The sugary sweet country singer embodies one of Disney’s most famous fairy-tale princesses for the Disney Parks’ long-running Disney Dream Portrait Series. Letting down her hair as Rapunzel, the 23-year-old Grammy Award winner looks perfectly ethereal in the advertisement, captioned “Where a world of adventure awaits,” shot by famed celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz.
“When Disney came to me and said, ‘We want you to play Rapunzel,’ in this series I was just so honored,” Swift explains in the behind-the-scenes video below. “It’s such a wonderful character to get to play I think it was a really like a childhood fantasy coming to reality for me. And Annie’s shooting it seemed like a once in a lifetime opportunity. Both of those entities represent something so classic and iconic. So, if you pair Annie Leibovitz with Disney, you are combining an incredible storyteller visually with the creator of the most iconic stories in the history of forming children’s imaginations. You get something really magical.”
Taylor isn’t the first star to find their happy ending as part of the campaign. Jessica Biel was captured as Pocahontas, Penelope Cruz was a beauty as Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Jennifer Lopez went back in time as Princess Jasmine opposite ex-husband Marc Anthony as Aladdin and Ellen DeGeneres dipped herself in pixie dust to fly high as Peter Pan‘s Tinkerbell.
