New York Knicks Point Guard Raymond Felton Has Signed A Sneaker Deal With Under Armour
There are certain perks that come along with being the point guard of the New York Knicks. Just look at what Jeremy Lin was able to accomplish with the Knicks last year and what that helped do for him and his career. This year, you could say the same exact thing about their point guard Raymond Felton, who joined the team in the offseason after the Knicks acquired him in a sign-and-trade deal with the Portland Trail Blazers. He’s averaging about 16 points and 6 assists through the first half of the season and, although he’s been out with an injury for the better part of the last month, he’s a much more high-profile player now that he’s with the Knicks as opposed to the Blazers. And, he’s enjoying the perks that come along with that.
The latest perk to come his way is a new sneaker deal that he just signed with Under Armour. Effective immediately, Felton will begin wearing the Under Armour Micro G Torch during games and he will continue to do so over the course of the next few years. He won’t get his own signature sneaker right away. But, if he continues to perform well for the Knicks and increase his popularity as a player, it’s not out of the question to think that Felton could get his own shoe at some point in the future. Either way, he sounds excited to be riding with Under Armour now.
“Under Armour is really committed to growing the game at the NBA, college, high school, and youth platforms,” he said shortly after signing to UA this week. “I’m looking forward to sharing my insights with the team and being part of the UA basketball movement.”
Check out the personalized UA Micro G Torch sneaker that Under Armour already put together for him below. Do you think this new deal is good for both Felton and the Under Armour brand?
