Ashton Kutcher Tried To Eat Like Steve Jobs Did While Filming jOBS & Had To Be Hospitalized

Ashton Kutcher took his role in the new Steve Jobs biopic, jOBS, very, very seriously. How seriously? Well, it sounds like he took it so seriously that he almost made himself incredibly sick just a few days before he finished shooting the film.

According to a new report that just came out, Kutcher wanted to understand exactly what it was like to be Jobs when he was shooting jOBS. So, he decided that he was going to follow the same fruitarian diet that Jobs used to follow when he was alive. That meant that, during shooting, Kutcher sustained himself by eating nothing but fruits, nuts, and seeds. And, of course, that’s not the kind of diet that you should just jump into without first preparing your body for it. So, Kutcher suffered from pancreatic issues after trying to tackle the diet.

“I was, like, doubled over in pain and my pancreas levels were completely out of whack, which was completely terrifying, considering everything,” he told US Weekly recently. Jobs, of course, died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 56 back in 2011.

But, don’t worry: Kutcher was able to make a speedy recovery and got right back to the set of jOBS. That doesn’t mean that he wasn’t still terrified, though. He also told US Weekly that it was terrifying just playing the role of Jobs in the movie.

“It’s portraying a guy who just passed away that is really fresh in people’s minds, that people are really passionate about, and care about, and have an opining about,” he said. “That’s really scary. Especially portraying a guy that I really admire…it’s terrifying, it’s terrifying!”

You can check out a clip from jOBS over here. Do you think Kutcher looks believable as Steve Jobs—or do you think the producers of the film should have gone with another actor?
