Damn Alex Rodriguez, Steroid Allegations Again?

Good old Alex Rodriguez just doesn’t know when to quit, does he? Another report implicating that Rodriguez is using PEDs has surfaced and A-Rod has hired an attorney to fight off the allegations.

On Saturday, ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” reported that Major League Baseball was investigating multiple wellness clinics in South Florida, as well as individuals with potential ties to players. The report said the area from Boca Raton to Miami is “ground zero” for performance-enhancing drugs still filtering into the game.

Rodriguez, who ended 2012 injured and on the bench during the playoffs, has admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs from 2001 to ’03, but he has said he has not used PEDs since. The New Times report said Rodriguez’s name shows up 16 times in the records it reviewed. One record, which the newspaper reported was part of Bosch’s private notebooks, indicated Rodriguez paid Bosch $3,500 for “1.5/1.5 HGH (sports perf.), creams test., glut., MIC, supplement, sports perf. Diet.” HGH is banned by MLB.

So, it has started again? What exactly this will do to A-Rod’s career if he’s found to be involved is anyone’s guess. Chances are that he’ll be treated worse than Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa. The New York Yankees are even considering voiding the remaining five years and $114 million on his contract.

Ouch.

If caught, we’d have to wonder what the hell Rodriguez is thinking about. Why continue to land yourself in hot water? It’s not like he has been playing better. It’s quite different than how well Barry Bonds played in the later stages of his career. Either way, A-Rod has to be dumb as hell if he thought he could get away with it. I truly hope that he didn’t risk what’s left of his legacy for this.
