There are only two more days until the wait is officially over and Beyonce takes center stage at the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show at the New Orleans Mercedes-Benz Superdome. And, King Bey is out to prove that she can sing and dance LIVE and in living color.
At a press conference in New Orleans to preview her Super Bowl halftime show, Beyonce finally addressed the lip-synching rumors that have been dogging her since she “sang” the National Anthem at the 2013 Presidential Inauguration. Taking the stage in a gorgeous, hip-hugging creme mini-frock, Beyonce asked the audience to stand before delivering a blockbuster performance of the National Anthem filled with all the vocal fireworks one would expect from the Grammy Award-winning singer. After proving her point, the diva admitted to singing to a pre-recorded track.
“I am a perfectionist,” she said explaining that she had missed a rehearsal with the Marine Band and “did not feel comfortable taking the risk. I decided to sing along with a pre-recorded track.”
In regards to her upcoming Super Bowl performance, Bey made one thing clear. “I will absolutely be singing live,” she said. “This is what I was born for. This is what I was born to do.”
To give fans a taste of what she was “born to do,” Beyonce also dropped a behind-the-scenes video from her Super Bowl halftime show rehearsals. According to the footage, the video was shot on day one and is pretty impressive. Surrounded by a sexy troop of lady dancers, Beyonce looks in prime shape and ready to score come Sunday.
