Super Bowl Offers New Looks At Iron Man 3 And Star Trek Into Darkness
While commercials for beer, cars, and computers might be a show all unto themselves during the Super Bowl, the season’s biggest blockbusters get in on the act too. And last night’s game offered audiences new peeks at two hotly anticipated films: Iron Man 3 and Star Trek Into Darkness.
The Iron Man spot seems to give a way a big plot point: an attack on Air Force One (as Harrison Ford roles his eyes):
Can we presume that this was engineered by Ben Kingsley‘s The Mandarin? Also, the scene fits in thematically with other trailers that have shown this as a darker Iron Man film, where Tony is forced to confront his limitations and how his actions hurt others.
Meanwhile, the Star Trek spot doesn’t offer much new information, except for a few more tantalizing lines from Benedict Cumberbatch‘s icy villain.
It’s hard to hear, but Cumberbatch tells Kirk, “I am better.” And many on the internet are buzzing about what appears to be scenes of the Enterprise crashing to Earth.
What do you think of the new trailers?
