David Beckham Flaunts His Package Wearing Boxers In A New Guy Ritchie-Directed H&M Short Film
H&M might as well stand for Hunk & Muscle, since that is exactly what David Beckham is serving up in the new commercial for his H&M Bodywear Collection.
The soccer star runs around town in nothing but a pair of leafy-green boxer briefs in the ad, which was directed by Madonna‘s ex-boyfriend Guy Ritchie. “For me, this felt like more than a campaign,” said Ritchie. “It was like directing a short film.”
Added David: “I hope everyone has as much fun watching the film as I had making it.”
In the sexy two-minute short, the 37-year-old husband to Spice Girl singer Victoria Beckham gets stripped of his robe when it gets caught in a car door and must sprint over several obstacles, including jumping into a pool, in the hopes of retrieving it. And while the entire commercial essentially consists of Beckham running, the athlete barely breaks a sweat. “Keeping fit is really important as playing football is all I’ve ever wanted to do,” explained the star. “I’m training a lot at the moment so fitness is an integral part of my day. I think I’d find it more of a challenge if I wasn’t able to keep in shape!”
It’s a shape that ladies around the world welcome seeing on the H&M Bodywear Collection packaging, although David still finds it hard to not be a soccer star and, instead, be a model. “No matter how many campaigns I do with H&M, I will never get used to seeing myself on billboards,” he said. “It’s always a surprise to me when I see them. I’m lucky to work with such great photographers and stylists, so the images are always the best they can be.”
