Katy Perry Backs Off Friendship With Rihanna Because Of Chris Brown?
Katy Perry and Rihanna may have run into a bump in their relationship. Reportedly, the duo’s friendship isn’t what it used to be because of Rihanna’s rekindled romance with Chris Brown. According to reports, Katy is not okay with the Barbadian music star’s decision to reunite with the man who left her a battered and bruised mess over Grammy weekend in 2009. A source told US Weekly:
“They aren’t tight anymore because Katy doesn’t approve of Rihanna dating Chris.”
The last time Katy and Rihanna were spotted together was at the MTV Video Music Awards in September…the same night that the “We Found Love” singer kissed and hugged Chris after her win for video of the year. The couple’s PDA caught everyone by surprise at the time, and was the first public sign that a reconciliation between the two was in the works.
Rihanna finally confirmed that she and the R&B bad boy were back together in a recent interview with Rolling Stone. Saying she doesn’t care what public opinion is about her relationship, Rihanna told the mag:
“I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that. Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.”
One thing I agree with her on: if it’s a mistake, it WILL be her mistake. For her sake though, I hope it’s the kind of mistake that can easily be fixed.
