In what’s becoming an Oscar tradition, Jimmy Kimmel Live used their post-awards-show edition to unveil the trailer for another “greatest movie never made.” Last year, host Jimmy Kimmel scored a viral hit with Movie: The Movie. And of course, all Hollywood successes deserve a sequel. So here’s Movie: The Movie: 2V.

Will Kimmel have viral success a second time? Probably not as much. Being very true to form, the sequel to MTM tries too hard to recapture the craziness of the original. For some reason, this one seemed slower than the first; and instead of jumping from genre to genre at will (allowing a maximum number of gags and cameos), MTM2V tried to stick to the basic idea of an invasion of sexy vampires.

But seeing big stars embarrass themselves is still good for a few laughs. Jessica Chastain shows that a great actress can be convincing even as she’s making electronic beeping noises.

And by creating a Hollywood satire that didn’t horribly offend people, Kimmel is already ahead of this year’s host, Seth MacFarlane. Seriously, Kimmel is probably somewhere close behind Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on the list of front runners to host next year.
