Two Air Jordan 1 Retro ’97 Sneakers Will Be Available In Stores Tomorrow
Are you a big fan of the Air Jordan 1 Retro ’97? If so, then 2013 has already been a pretty big year for you as the Jordan Brand has already released a couple of solid AJ1 colorways for loyal Jordan fans. But, don’t expect the heat to stop anytime soon, as Jordan Brand is starting March off with a bang by dropping not one, but two AJ1 colorways. Tomorrow, both the Air Jordan 1 Retro ’97 “White/Black-Gym Red” and the Air Jordan 1 Retro ’97 “Black/White-Gym Red” will hit stores. And, they’re sure to sell out quickly, so if you like what you see here, make sure you’re up early on Saturday to cop them.
If you’re an Air Jordan loyalist, then you’ll probably notice that both of these sneakers look familiar. That’s because they’re actually a mashup of the Air Jordan I and the Air Jordan XIII sneaker. They have the basic shape and form of the AJ1, but they feature the same tumbled leather, holographic logo, and embroidered circle on the upper as the AJ XIII. The colorway that’s used on both of the sneakers is also the same colorway used on the original Air Jordan XIII. It’s subtle, and anyone out there who’s not super familiar with Air Jordans might not be able to tell. But, it makes this a pretty solid Air Jordan mashup.
Everyone doesn’t love them, though. Although we’re sure these will go quickly, we’ve also heard a lot of Air Jordan aficionados grumbling about the fact that the Jordan Brand must be hard up for ideas if they’re stealing inspiration from another Air Jordan in order to provide a fresh take on the Air Jordan 1. But, we’ve also heard a lot of people say that they’re into the look that the Air Jordan XIII inspires in the Air Jordan I. Where do you stand on the issue? Let us know. And then, make sure you pick up a pair of these on Saturday for $130.
