Leona Lewis Creates “Cruelty Free” Makeup Collection For The Body Shop
Glassheart songstress Leona Lewis has a new venture that she hopes will warm her heart. The X-Factor UK winner has teamed up with The Body Shop to create a limited-edition collection of makeup and fragrances that are cruelty free and not tested on animals.
“The fact is that there are alternative tests that are far more superior to testing on animals,” she told WWD. “It’s a cruel, barbaric and an unnecessary process. This cruelty can end if we speak out loud enough and I urge everyone to sign this pledge.”
The Leona Lewis Cruelty Free Collection comprises of a Shimmer Palette in either “Blush” or “Bronze” used to contour and highlight cheekbones, four mint-flavored high-shine Lip Glosses in “Bronze,” “Coral,” “Petal” and “Fuchsia,” a girly black and pink Blusher Brush and a White Musk Libertine fragrance made from baby orchids and Chantilly cream available as a Eau de Toilette (30ml, 60ml) and Eau de Parfum (30ml).
“I’m so excited to present my first ever make up collection, designed to celebrate cruelty-free beauty at The Body Shop,” Lewis said of the collaboration in an official press statement. “With two on-trend looks to suit every skin tone from fair to dark, high shine lip glosses and a wild, liberating fragrance, you’ll go wild!”
In addition to creating animal cruelty-free makeup collection, the “Bleeding Love” singer will direct customers of The Body Shoppe to sign a pledge, starting May 15, backing the efforts of Cruelty Free International’s global campaign to ban the testing of cosmetics on animals. The Leona Lewis Cruelty Free Collection, ranging in price from $10.60 to $24.25, will be available at selected Body Shop stores and online beginning on March 26.
