Are you going to a St. Patrick’s Day parade this year? Or, a St. Patrick’s Day party? Or, a St. Patrick’s Day, well, anything? If so, then you’re going to want to dress accordingly. That means you’re going to want to wear a green shirt, a green hat, green jeans, green socks, and a pair of the new Converse CTS “St. Patrick’s Day” sneakers that you see here. Trust us: You need to have a pair of these on your feet when March 17 rolls around this year.

Now, we know what you’re thinking: “Wait a second, they just told me to wear green, green, green, and more green—so why are they telling me to wear those?” This is why. These Converse CTS sneakers were designed to pay homage to the oldest Irish tavern that exists in the town of Charleston, Mass. So, while they might not look like “St. Patrick’s Day” sneakers due to the milk and subtle green colorway, they’ve got a pretty strong back story that you can pull out anytime someone steps up to you and asks, “What’s with the shoes, buddy?” You can tell them that, while they’re wearing some ridiculous green kicks that they got at Payless, you’re running around in sneakers that have some real meaning behind them.

If you’re interested in picking up a pair of these, they’re going to be available beginning on March 15, just in time for the big day. The only thing is that you’re probably going to have some trouble landing a pair, since they’ll only be carried at sneaker shops in Boston, London, and Ontario (what, there’s no sneaker shops in Ireland, Converse?!). But, if you happen to see a pair online, they might be worth ordering and putting on ice for next year when that tavern is a year older. It’ll only make your story that much more amazing while you’re throwing back a pint of green beer.
