Why Is Dennis Rodman In The Vatican City Trying To Meet The Next Pope Right Now?
We ask because it’s only been two weeks since The Worm flew to North Korea to meet with Kim Jong-un—a trip that caused the White House to put out a statement speaking out against both Rodman and Korth Korea. And, already, Dennis the Menace is off on his next adventure. This time, he’s in the Vatican City promoting the election of a black Pope on behalf of an Irish betting website (can you say “publicity stunt”?!) and also attempting to meet with—yes, meet with—whoever is selected as the next Pope. He told TMZ that he wanted to get a ride in the Popemobile and “shake some hands” with the people who are in charge of running the Catholic Church.
Far be it from us to judge Rodman…but what in the world is he thinking right now?! Two weeks ago, when we thought about the name “Dennis Rodman,” we thought about him as a great basketball player and as a wild and crazy guy who liked to have a lot of fun during his NBA career. But, his recent actions are starting to make us think that he’s legitimately lost it. Like, does he need attention that badly that he’s willing to do something as crazy as go to try and meet the Pope? We understand him taking a check from the Irish betting site (who we will not name) in order to keep his bank account padded. But, at what cost? The North Korea trip was one thing. But, he’s starting to make himself look like a joke now.
Hopefully, the Catholic Church will turn down his request to meet with the Pope. They should see Rodman’s attempts at publicity and shoo him away from the Vatican. Otherwise, we might be creating a monster here. It was funny to hear about him making a trip to North Korea—and, for a minute, funny to think about him sitting down and talking to the Pope—but, if he pulls this off, what’s next? Will Rodman be, like, spotted in Cuba hanging out with Fidel Castro? We don’t know. But, what we do know is that someone needs to stop Rodman from trying to set up these strange meetings. He’s not doing himself—or his country—any favors when he pulls these stunts. And, he’s starting to make us think that he’s seriously lost his mind.
