Alicia Keys Launches Her Reebok Wedge Sneakers Collection Alongside Swizz Beatz
Alicia Keys is unlocking the secret to her sexy, yet comfy, style.
The R&B singer-turned-designer, who launched her debut Reebok Classic X Alicia Keys Collection in 2011 and later released the “Cargo” and “Reptile” collections in 2012, is now expanding her sneaker empire with the debut of her wedge version of Reebok’s classic Freestyle sneaker.
“The Freestyle has always been a part of my style—so I’m really excited to give it even more of an edge,” Keys said in a statement. “I’m feeling deeply inspired this year with the new album, tour, and everything that’s going on in my life. Creativity is limitless in its possibilities and I love that I get to express myself in a whole new artistic way through the design of these collections.”
The 32-year-old singer rocked a pair of black, pink, and yellow kicks from her Freestyle Hi Wedge A. Keys Collection at a launch party in Los Angeles to announce the collection alongside hubby and Reebok Creative Director Swizz Beatz. “I want to wear them every day, not just because they’re mine, [but] because they look great and because they’re comfortable,” she told the crowd at the event. “Evolving and becoming a woman has really changed my style. Style should be comfortable. You should feel great [when you] put it on—although some shoes I wear are not very comfortable. But my sneakers are!”
Keys’ Reebok wedge sneakers will be available on Reebok.com and Nordstrom.com starting April 1.
