Would You Pay $500 (Or More!) For These Sample Air Jordan XX8 Michael Crabtree PE Cleats?

Do you have an extra $500 lying around? Probably not. But, if you do, then, boy, do we have a deal for you! Recently, an eBay seller put a sample pair of Air Jordan XX8 PE cleats, which were designed exclusively for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree, up on the auction site. We have no idea where he (or she) was able to get the sample sneakers from. But, the seller lucked up on a pair of the sneakers, which were worn by Crabtree during the 2013 NFL Playoffs earlier this year, and wants to see how much people are willing to pay for them. But, are they really worth $500 to anyone out there?

The survey says…no! Now, to be fair, the Air Jordan XX8 PE is a pretty unique sneaker. It features the shrouded upper much like the regular Air Jordan XX8 does, the 49ers’ classic red colorway on the upper, and Volt on the bottom of the cleats. It also features a Jumpman logo on the heel, a strap across the top, and the Dynamic Fit system that’ll keep these snug on your feet. But, we have just one question after looking at these sneakers: As dope as they may be, what the hell are you going to do with them if and when you buy them?

The truth is that, while these would make for a cool collector’s item, we would much rather have, say, a sample pair of the actual Air Jordan XX8. At this point in his career, it’s unclear whether Michael Crabtree will turn into a bonafide superstar. So, there’s a chance that these Air Jordan XX8 PE cleats won’t be worth much in the future or that they’ll be worth exactly what you would have to pay for them to win this auction. There’s also a chance that the Jordan Brand will actually start producing an XX8 cleat, in which cause you’re SOL as far as having a one-of-one cleat goes. But, either way, we’re not paying $500 for this sample pair. Are you? If so, you can bid on it over here.
