Would You Wear These Nike 1972 QS Shoes To Work?

Last November, Nike sold the Cole Haan brand to the Apax Partners for $570 million. But, prior to that, Nike used Lunarlon soles to create the LunarGrand collection. It was incredibly popular amongst stylish folks looking for a shoe to wear to work that felt like a sneaker without actually looking like one. So when Nike cut ties with Cole Haan, it was believed to be the end of an era. But not so fast! It looks like Nike is still going to be producing classy shoes that are inspired by their sneakers in order to give those who work in an office a solid alternative to sneakers.

With that in mind, the shoe you are looking at here is the Nike 1972 QS. It looks and feels a whole lot like a Nike 1972 sneaker, but the sole that Nike has added here makes it look a lot more business-like than anything you’ve got in your sneaker closet. In doing so, Nike has created a shoe that would look great with a pair of slacks and a button-up on a Monday morning. But they’ve also created a shoe that probably won’t look like any other shoe in your office.

What do you think about the Nike 1972 QS? Is it something that you would seriously consider wearing to work? Or would you prefer to stick to a more traditional work shoe? The Nike 1972 QS will be available in both red and brown and will hit stores later this month. We don’t know if we like it quite as much as we liked the LunarGrand shoes that Nike created when they still had the Cole Haan brand in their possession. But we like the direction that Nike is taking with these shoes. Before long, you’ll be able to wear Nikes both in and outside of the office without skipping a beat. And that will give the Swoosh yet another leg up on their competition.
