JaVale McGee Has A Pair Of Customized Air Jordan Spiz’ike Roller Skates

When you’re an NBA player, you can get just about any pair of sneakers that you want. That’s why so many NBA players are able to wear expensive, rare sneakers on the court during games. You would never break out your Nike Yeezy 2 sneakers on the court. But Nate Robinson did it recently, because he’s probably got 10 more pairs of Yeezy 2s in his closet. So it should come as no surprise to find out that, although he’s currently serving as an endorser of PEAK sneakers, JaVale McGee just picked up a pair of customized Air Jordan Spiz’ike roller skates. He just added them to his sneaker collection recently and posted a photo of them on Instagram.

“SHWAG!” he wrote. “ROLL WIT A G!”

Aren’t they ridiculous? The Spiz’ikes—which appear to be the Air Jordan Spiz’ike “Poison Green/Easter” sneakers that were released recently—have four wheels screwed into the outer soles of them. And, judging by the background of the photo, these Spiz’ike roller skates were customized by professionals. As you can clearly see, there are other pairs of rollers skates in the background, and the Spiz’ikes also feature a hangtag on them that seems to imply that McGee got these done at a roller skate shop.

Obviously, these won’t be released in stores anytime soon. If you want your own Spiz’ike skates, you’ll have to go and get them customized yourself. But, even if you found a roller skate shop willing to throw wheels onto your Air Jordans, would you do it? If so, which pair of Air Jordans would you like to see with wheels screwed into the bottoms of them?

We would have to go with the Air Jordan XI. We think they would look pretty crazy whizzing around a roller skating rink. But, we’re not in the NBA. So, there’s no way we would ruin a perfectly good pair of Jordans by putting wheels on them. Then again, we’re not as crazy as JaVale McGee who probably would get these skates made, NBA deal or not. What a guy—and what a ridiculous pair of sneaks.
