Rick Ross “Grunts” Over Loss Of Reebok Deal
Rick Ross isn’t a happy camper when it comes to his recent falling out with Reebok, according to his camp.
While the exact details of his partnership with the brand are sketchy, Ross was apparently getting a check every time he wore the shoes and mentioned them via his social media networks. He now stands to lose between $3.5 million and $5 million from the endorsement deal, even though he’s reportedly paid through for the duration of 2013.
Dumped by Reebok after women’s groups put the heat on the company for working with a rapper that alluded to “date rape” in his verse for Rocko‘s “U.O.E.N.O” track, Ross is now telling people he was entitled to “corporate forgiveness” because he did so much for the brand (he’s allegedly crediting himself for making Reebok “cool” in the hip-hop community again).
Reebok isn’t trying to hear their former ambassador and his cries of foul play. The brand released a statement that included the following: “We are very disappointed Ross has yet to display an understanding of the seriousness of this issue or an appropriate level of remorse.”
