Whoopi Goldberg Sounds Off On New Hosts For The View
Whoopi Goldberg holds no punches when it comes to her position as moderator of The View.
The talk show has been surrounded by speculation for the past six months as rumors swirl over Elisabeth Hasselbeck‘s exit (not confirmed as yet) and Joy Behar‘s resignation after 16 years. It’s no secret the producers are looking for youthful energy (with more left-leaning views than Hasselbeck possesses, reportedly) and so far the names being tossed around include Brooke Shields and La La Anthony.
Goldberg, 57, has told Us Weekly she’s steering clear of the casting drama.
“Let me tell you this about The View: I take a paycheck every other week. That’s all I do. I could give a sh*t what comes. I do my job, I have a contract. That’s where I stand. I don’t give a f*ck.” She also added that she’s not involved in any casting decisions. “I don’t care. That’s not my job,” she explained. “My job is to show up and be cute by 11 o’clock and get the f*ck off that show by 12. And that’s what I try to do.”
Sheesh! Tell ‘em how you really feel, Whoop. The veteran actor and entertainer related that she plugs her ears when people discuss rumors about the show. “I think it’s the only way to keep your sanity, because these are not decisions that I get to make,” Goldberg told Us. “It ain’t my show. It’s Barbara’s show.”
