Last year, UFC fighter Jon “Bones” Jones became the first MMA fighter to sign a worldwide endorsement deal with Nike. But, because of the way that MMA fighting operates—fighters usually only participate in matches every few months–and because of the elbow injury that Jones suffered late last year, we didn’t actually get to see much Nike product produced for Jones after he signed. But, now that he has a match coming up against Chael Sonnen at UFC 159 next Saturday, we’re finally getting a sneak peek at the sneakers and gear that Nike is releasing on Jones’ behalf.

First up, we’ve got a customized pair of Nike Free Trainer 5.0 sneakers that Jones has been wearing to train. As you can see, the Free Trainer 5.0s are black and red and they feature Jones’ branding on the tongue of the sneaker. In addition to the sneakers, Nike has also created a special “Bones Jones” T-shirt for all of his fans. It features those words across the front of it as well as a small Swoosh on the top right portion of the shirt. It’s not anything fancy. But it seems to suit Jones’ personality well.

For those of you who are interested in picking up a pair of the Nike Free Trainer 5.0 sneakers that Jones has been training in, a limited quantity was put up for sale on Friday. They may be tough to find. But, because they’re the first “Bones” Jones signature sneaker for sale, you might want to try and track down a pair and put them on ice. The T-shirt is also available through Nike retailers, and it should be a little easier to find. If you’re a fan of “Bones” Jones, you can pick buy both of them now.

What do you think about what Nike has done for Jones here? Were you expecting more from the Nike x “Bones” Jones deal? Or do you think this is a good start for Nike and Jones? Either way, make sure to tune into UFC 159 next week to see Jones take on Sonnen in one of the most anticipated UFC matches in recent years.
