Lauryn Hill Tax Evasion Sentencing Pushed Back
Lauryn Hill can breathe a deep sigh of relief, at least for a few weeks. The former Fugees frontwoman was supposed to be sentenced yesterday for tax evasion charges, but her sentencing hearing has been pushed back until May 6. Between now and then, Lauryn will attempt to pay off some of her $968,000 tax debt. According to TMZ:
“Hill’s attorney said the singer recently signed a million-dollar recording deal with Sony … she was also planning to take out a $650,000 loan to put toward the bill.”
As I previously told you, Lauryn’s legal team is hoping she gets probation when she goes before the judge, and if she pays off some of the money she owes before then, that may very well happen.
