Is The “Best Performing Windows Laptop” Really… A MacBook?!

According to PC services company Soluto, the most smoothly operating Windows laptop is a 13-inch MacBook Pro.

Come again?

That’s right, a computer not even optimized for the OS performed the best in Soluto’s “frustration analytics.” The company’s analysis includes averages of crashes, hangs, “Blue Screens of Death,” boot times, and background processes.

Soluto did make one major disclaimer, pointing out that Apple may have had an unfair advantage over the other models, which were all judged as they are found in regular usage:

A main factor in [the MacBook Pro]’s metrics is the fact that every Windows installation on it is clean. With PC manufacturers loading so much crapware on new laptops, this is a bit of an unfair competition…

One could argue that we should not compare a cleanly installed MacBook Pro with an OEM-imaged PC from Acer or Dell.

The article goes on to say the company will compare cleanly installed models in future tests.

The Acer Aspire E1-571 and Dell XPS 13 round out the top three.

What do you think? Can Apple really beat Windows computers at their own game?
