Does This Air Jordan V Retro Sample Feature Too Much Elephant Print?
The Air Jordan V turns 23 this year. So, naturally, Jordan Brand is using that as a reason to release a ton of Air Jordan V Retro sneakers. Not that we’re complaining! Already, we’ve seen them release the Air Jordan V “Fire Red.” And we’re gearing up for the release of the Air Jordan V “Grapes” and the Air Jordan V “Black Grapes” as well as an alternate version of the Air Jordan V “Fire Red,” which will all be available soon. But is the Jordan Brand also thinking about releasing a crazy Air Jordan V “Elephant Print” version of the classic sneaker?
We can’t really say for sure as the Jordan Brand hasn’t made anything official. But, recently, a pair of AJ V “Elephant Print” sneakers did pop up on the Internet and they’ve got a lot of people wondering about whether or not they’re actually going to be released by JB. In fact, photos of this same exact sample sneaker also popped up on the Internet last year (we’ve included two photos below, courtesy of Kicks on Fire) but we never heard anything else about them. But the new photo that just dropped (which is the photo posted above) seems to indicate that the Jordan V “Elephant Print” will drop at some point in 2013. We’re just not sure when.
We’re also not really sure if it’s such a good idea for Jordan Brand to release these sneakers. We love the classic “Elephant Print” design just as much as the next Air Jordan enthusiast. But this seems like overkill. Including “Elephant Print” on a smaller portion of the Air Jordan V would have been a much better idea than draping the entire sneaker in it. But maybe we’re alone in that thinking.
Do you like the idea of wearing an Air Jordan V “Elephant Print” sneaker? Or do you think that the Jordan Brand should scrap this idea and find other ways to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of the Air Jordan V? Let us know below, as soon as you get done checking out the photos that we’ve provided here.
