Former Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus is quite the wise sage nowadays.

The 20 year-old, currently working on a new musical sound with acts like Pharrell Williams, Snoop Lion, Tyler The Creator and more, tells ELLE UK that she’s learned not to share private details of her life through her social media networks and is currently advising fellow child star Justin Bieber to do the same.

Cyrus says she’s cautioned the Biebs, a year her junior, to savor each crazy, frenetic moment in his charmed life and absorb everything he can while in the now. The friends were apparently out one night and Cyrus says all Bieber did was “take photos of other people” and she promptly got angry at him for it.

“I noticed he was taking all these photos of people and doing a lot of sh*t and I just grabbed him and said, ‘Just take a snapshot in your brain of this moment, so you don’t forget.’”

Cyrus shared that her bigger point was because she was too busy capturing special moments in her life to upload them to Twitter, she never had the chance to enjoy them and regrets it to this day.

“I don’t remember my Hannah Montana movie premiere—and my 3D movie trumped everyone’s at the box office—I don’t remember being there. All I remember from that night is that I stopped and got a strawberry milkshake beforehand. That’s all. It’s crazy. You think you’re in the present but you’re not.”
