Jon Jones Says That He Would Be “Competitive” Boxing Floyd Mayweather
We all know that the UFC and boxing are two completely different sports. One uses hands and the other uses just about every other body part. And we also know that guys that come from a boxing background and try to test the MMA waters have had their asses handed to them (Hello James Toney) and MMA guys struggle when it comes to a fight using just hands.
However, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has proven that he’s just as lethal on his feet as he is on the ground. There’s a reason why he’s the light heavyweight champion and arguably the best pound-for-pound MMA fighter on the planet. When appearing on Power 105′s The Breakfast Club, Jones was asked how he would fare against boxing’s pound-for-pound king, Floyd Mayweather. Although there is a distinct size advantage between the two (Mayweather is 5’8″ and Jones is 6’4″), Jones says that he could hang with Mayweather in a pure boxing match. Check out what he had to say below.
