Rick Ross Scored A Pair Of Li-Ning Sneakers Autographed By Dwyane Wade Recently

Rick Ross was dropped by Reebok last month after all of the controversy surrounding one of his lyrics on Rocko‘s hit single, “U.O.E.N.O.” But, to quote Lil Wayne, he ain’t got no worries! Since then, he’s been photographed wearing a handful of crazy Air Jordans and even sported a pair of Nike Air Yeezy I sneakers during a Chicago Bulls/Miami Heat playoff game last week. Now that he’s free to wear whatever he wants to wear on his feet, Rozay is trying out a little bit of everything—and doing a whole lot of stunting in the process. But the sneakers you see here are sneakers that Ross will most definitely not be wearing anytime soon.

The sneakers seen here are the Li-Ning Way of Wades. And Ross will not be wearing them anytime soon because D-Wade himself wore these during a playoff game, took them off, signed them, and then handed them to Ross. We’re not exactly sure why he chose Ross of all people or whether or not Ross requested them. But the fact remains that Ross now has his very own pair of autographed Li-Ning Way of Wade sneakers. He won’t wear this pair. But he will be able to keep them on display on his home for many years to come.

From a marketing standpoint, it was really brilliant for Wade to hand them off to Ross. When he did, he probably knew that Ross would show them off to the world. He probably also knew that it would help get the Li-Ning name out there even more than it already is. And, hey, who knows? Maybe this is the start of something special. Sometime soon, we could see Ross jumping on board and promoting Li-Ning! Er, okay. So that’s not likely. We don’t think Ross is going to be getting another sneaker deal anytime soon. But, for the moment, he’s helping promote Li-Ning. And if the only thing D-Wade had to give up to get the free promotion was a pair of game-worn sneaks and his John Hancock, we think he got a good deal.
