Vogue Names Kate Upton “The Hottest Supermodel On Earth!”

Could Kate Upton be this generation’s Marilyn Monroe? Vogue thinks so. The fashion bible just named the 20-year-old Sports Illustrated model “America’s favorite bombshell” due to her “killer curves,  old-fashioned ambition, digital-age savvy, and personality to burn.” But Kate’s killer curves have caused backlash. While some have applauded the rise of a model that isn’t just a waif, others have chosen to call the voluptuous blonde fat.

“It was hard at first,” Kate admitted when dealing with comments about her body. “You sit there and you’re like ‘Is something wrong with me?’ It’s kind of funny to think, ‘Oh, wow, the news is talking about whether I’m fat or not.’”

Kate, who shows off her much talked about physique in an old fashioned swimsuit for the June 2014 Vogue cover has learned to love the skin she’s in. “The things that they’re rejecting are things that I can’t change,” she realized. “I can’t change my bra size. They’re natural! I can work out and I can stay healthy and motivated, but I can’t change some things. I really just live my life. I love my body. It’s what God gave me! I feel confident with myself, and if that inspires other women to feel confident with their bodies, great.”

The June 2013 issue of Vogue hits newsstands on May 21. Check out photos from her shoot with Mario Testino and watch the behind-the-scenes video and click to read the entire interview here. Do you think Kate Upton is the hottest supermodel alive?
