Why Did Dwyane Wade Wear These Ridiculous Pants Before The Heat/Bulls Playoff Game Last Night?

NBA players are officially out of control. Well, technically, they’ve been out of control for a couple of seasons now. But this season especially, NBA players are taking all sorts of wacky fashion risks before and after games. From brightly-colored shirts to pink pants (we saw you the other night, LeBron James!), they just can’t seem to control themselves when it comes to trying out new looks. But last night, Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade went above and beyond the usual call of duty prior to the Heat/Bulls playoff game when he pulled out the pants that you see above. And we had just one thought when we first saw that: WTF does D-Wade think he’s doing?!?!?

We weren’t alone, either. After a video of Wade wearing the pants appeared on TNT’s halftime show, Twitter blew up with people making comments on Wade’s capri pants. From those defending his wild fashion choice to those wondering what in the hell Wade was thinking when he agreed to wear them, no one really knew quite what to make of the pants. After about an hour, the general consensus was that Wade had clearly committed a major fashion faux pas by rocking the short pants. But he didn’t seem to mind what people were saying about him. And Wade has already said that he’s got some even crazier looks in store for the next round of playoffs, assuming the Heat can get by the Bulls.

What do you think about the fashion risks that players like D-Wade are taking before and after games now? When NBA Commissioner David Stern installed a dress code a few years back, we can’t imagine he ever thought that this would be the result. And yet, NBA players are getting more and more out of control when it comes to their style choices. Do you think that they should take it easy and dress a little more conservatively? Or does it makes the pre and post-game festivities more exciting when players’ fashion is such a hot topic? Let us know.
