Did New Balance Go Too Far With The 574 “Rainbow” Pack?

When we think about the New Balance brand, we don’t usually associate it with a lot of color. While there are some New Balances out there that have some color in them, those colors are usually understated. For instance, New Balance will use red or blue on a sneaker. But it won’t be a super bright shade of those colors. And it will be muffled by the greys, blacks, and whites that are also on the sneaker. So we have to admit that we were a little bit surprised when we came across the new New Balance 574 “Rainbow” Pack. It features the iconic 574 sneaker done up in a bunch of really colorful hues that make the pack brighter and more lively than anything we’ve ever seen before from New Balance.

Is that a good thing? Eh, it probably depends on who you ask. As you can see here, the 574 “Rainbow” Pack literally features every color imaginable. Each of the sneakers in the “Rainbow” Pack is packed with color. So we’re going to go ahead and assume that the typical New Balance fan won’t be into the “Rainbow” Pack. New Balances usually aren’t this bright, so it will likely turn that fan off. But for those sneakerheads out there who can appreciate a little bit of color in their footwear, the 574 “Rainbow” Pack will be perfect. It combines the classic look of the New Balance 574 with the colors that are more often associated with sneakers made by companies like Nike.

What do you think of the “Rainbow” Pack? If given the choice, would you rather wear one of these sneakers or cop something a little more subtle from New Balance? If you’re interested in the “Rainbow” Pack, it’s available now through a variety of New Balance retailers. Pick yours up now before it’s too late. Because if history has taught us anything, it’s that New Balance will not produce many more sneakers like this in the near future.
