Did you see Dwyane Wade balling the other night? He was, in a word, incredible. Even though he’s been battling issues with his knee for the last couple of months, he put the pain aside on Thursday and single-handedly carried the Miami Heat to an easy victory over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 of the 2013 NBA Finals. So what enabled him to do it? Additional rest between Games 3 and 4? Some newfangled treatment on his knee before the game? The Li-Ning Way of Wade Encore “Gold Rush” sneakers that he wore for the first time? Well, we can’t say for certain. But one thing is for sure: D-Wade better have the “Gold Rush” sneakers on again during Game 5 of the Finals on Sunday night. Because he definitely played his best game in a long time in those sneakers.

So what makes the Li-Ning Way of Wade Encore “Gold Rush” sneakers so special? As you can see, they’re really, really gold. They have a shimmery golden quality to them that makes them stand out in a crowd. The black accents on the sneakers really pop out, too, when they’re set against the gold. And even the zig-zag pattern on the sneakers’ shoelaces is unique. Overall, this sneaker helped D-Wade stand out on the court on Thursday and not just because he was grabbing steals and dropping points all over the place.

So what are the odds that Wade comes out for Game 5 wearing these sneakers? We’re not really sure. If he’s superstitious at all, he will wear the same exact sneakers he wore during Game 4 for Game 5. But because Wade is constantly trying to push Li-Ning product, we wouldn’t be surprised to see another crazy colorway make an appearance on Sunday night. Guess we’ll just have to see at the start of Game 5, won’t we? We’re really looking forward to it.
