A Bad Week To Be A Boston Sports Fan

Boy, what a week it was for Boston sports fans.

The Boston Bruins had their hearts broken after the Chicago Blackhawks scored two goals that were 17 seconds apart to snare the Stanley Cup.

That sucks.

The Bruins were thinking about a game seven and Chicago thought about slamming the door in Boston’s face.

Meanwhile, New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has been arrested and charged with murder after a bevy of evidence rolled in and over the 23-year-old talent. What’s shocking is just how stupid Hernandez has been in this ordeal. One piece of incrimination after another came in. Broken cell phones, broken surveillance, video camera images, text messages, etc. And now, with Rob Gronkowski on the shelf and Wes Welker reeling in Peyton Manning passes, the Patriots are without a go-to guy.

Finally, the Boston Celtics bid farewell to Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett in a blockbuster trade with the Brooklyn Nets. For many Celtic fans, this was a heartbreaking moment, as the Celtics have gone into full blown rebuilding mode around Rajon Rondo. What’s really unfortunate is that Paul Pierce should have been able to retire in his Celtic green. The original Big Three of Pierce, Allen and Garnett have now officially been dissolved and Doc Rivers will see if he can bring the Los Angeles Clippers a championship. It was clear that the Celtics were on the wrong side of success, but to see them broken up was the final nail in the coffin.

So, Boston fans, what do you have to look forward to? Maybe the Red Sox?
