Kevin Durant’s New Lifestyle Sneaker Is A Little Bit Too Much For Us

Submitted by on June 28, 2013 – 11:12 amNo Comment

Both on and off of the basketball court, Kevin Durant is a pretty quiet and mild-mannered person. Although he’s easily one of the best basketball players in the world right now, he doesn’t seem to crave a lot of attention like other players, and he more or less keeps to himself and lets his game do all of his talking for him. So it’s a little bit surprising to see the new Nike KD VI NSW lifestyle sneaker that he’s endorsing. Nike hasn’t announced any official details about it yet. But he posted some photos of the lifestyle sneaker on Instagram earlier this week. And it is way more loud and outlandish than anything else that KD has ever cosigned.

As you can see, the Nike KD VI NSW appears to feature a grey/blue colorway, a gigantic tongue, a lot of sharp edges and an oversized Swoosh. The lifestyle sneaker is very in-your-face, and it doesn’t appear as though Nike held back when they were creating this sneaker for KD. The heels almost have a Yeezy-esque quality to them, and they will definitely turn more than a few heads when and if they’re released to the public. They’re not as ridiculous as some of the other lifestyle sneakers that we’ve seen out there. But these things were designed to get attention and to make a statement.

Are we overthinking this right now? If these are the lifestyle sneakers that Nike has created for KD, do you like what they’ve come up with? Or do you agree with us and do you think that Nike took these sneakers a little bit too far? We will definitely let you know what plans Nike has for these lifestyle sneakers just as soon as they release additional details on them. For now, take a look at some other angles of the KD VI NSW below, which come to us courtesy of KD himself. Weird, right?
