How does adidas do it? Every few months, they release a new basketball sneaker that is even lighter than the previous version. From their adidas Rose lineup of sneakers to their adiZero Crazy Light lineup of sneakers, adidas continues to push the boundaries and create basketball sneakers that are lighter and lighter. It’s worked out well for them, too. While their basketball sneakers aren’t the most popular sneakers on the market, they have established a niche in the market and basketball fans are flocking to their light, durable sneakers in droves. All they need to do is continue to put out a quality product and those same fans will keep coming back for more when they drop new sneakers every few months.

The latest lightweight sneaker from adidas is the adiZero Crazy Light 3. Like the adiZero Crazy Light and the adiZero Crazy Light 2, the emphasis here is on the weight of the sneaker. And the Crazy Light 3 delivers by weighing in at just 9.4 ounces. Yes, 9.4 ounces. adidas says that it’s both lighter and more comfortable than the Crazy Light and Crazy Light 2 and also features better ankle support thanks to the evolution of the adidas SPRINTFRAME construction. There are a limited number of colorways of the Crazy Light 3 right now. But over the course of the next month, we should see about ten new colorways of the Crazy Light 3 come out. adidas is going to give these a nice push as we inch closer towards another basketball season.

What do you think about what adidas has done with the Crazy Light 3? The one problem that we see with the Crazy Light 3 is that they’re not all that different from the Crazy Light 2, at least in terms of the look of the shoe. So frankly, you might be better off scooping up a pair of Crazy Light 2 sneakers from the clearance rack if you want to give the Crazy Light sneaker a try. But if you like to be up on the latest, then the Crazy Light 3 is for you. It will retail for $140 through all adidas retailers. Will you be buying a pair?

  • For several years, the Nacional and Metropolitano championships were played separately. The Nacional was a 1-group championship, of which the six best teams would be eligible to take part in the Metropolitano next year. It would be until 1985 that Argentina soccer would hold this structure, after which the Nacional became the main championship.
