Carrie Star Chloe Moretz Named “The Future Queen Of Hollywood” By InStyle UK
Chloe Moretz gets colorful on the cover of InStyle UK‘s August 2013 issue.
The 16-year-old actress, who stars in the upcoming remake of the cult classic, Carrie, is pretty in pastel eye shadow on the cover of the fashion magazine. Inside, the rising star talks about falling in love, fame, and family ties. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Moretz caught the acting bug early in life, landing a two-episode role on the television series, The Guardian, when she was only seven. Her big break came six years late when she landed the role of Mindy Macready, aka Hit-Girl, in the 2010 film adaptation of Mark Millar’s graphic novel series, Kick-Ass. And while Moretz played a supehero, she soon learned one of life’s biggest lessons: That her parents were not superheroes.
“It made me realize, along with everything that happened with my dad, that your parents aren’t these godly figures,” said Moretz of dealing with her father’s cancer diagnosis and her parent’s divorce. “They’re not chosen by the heavens. They’re humans. Their bodies can fail and they can die at any moment. They make mistakes. They cry. They fight. It definitely, from a young age, put everything into perspective for me.”
And while her parent’s marriage failed, Chloe is open to the idea of falling in love, though the star knows fame won’t make it easy. “You think, ‘Who’s out to deceive me?’ That’s hard. Especially growing up and liking guys and, maybe, ‘Do you want to be in a relationship? Is this person trying to be in my life because I’m famous?’ You can’t just like someone. They might be using you,” the star admits. “I talk to Julianne [Moore, her co-star in Carrie] about it and she says, ‘Look, just be careful. Trust your judgement but don’t get in too deep sometimes.’ Because, you know, when you’re young, you fall in love and don’t know it’s happening.”
