Miley Cyrus can’t stop and won’t stop making headlines when it comes to her unorthodox fashion choices. The 20-year-old singer, actress, and Twerk enthusiast sat down with Harper’s Bazaar Executive Editor Laura Brown and a strategically placed wind machine to talk about the style transformation that begin last summer when the former Disney darling chopped off her signature brown tresses and dyed them blonde.

“I was in Philadelphia working and I met Chris McMillan at my hotel room,” Cyrus says of the drastic change. “I had him bleach my hair, cut it, and then I got on the train that night and somebody recognized me right away…”

More confident than ever before, the “We Can’t Stop” singer believes fans respect her style metamorphosis. “It’s kinda just been an organic thing,” she reveals as the twosome hang out on camera for the fashion mag’s online video series The Look. “As I take more control of my life, people are following that and I think people are inspired to see someone young and taking control of what they know that they like and I think people are wanting to see more of that right and wanting someone with a clear vision of what they are.”

One thing Miley likes is her accessories, especially her grills. When focus shifts to her Louis Vuitton bag, the singer says, “I can show you some fun stuff in here. I have my grill in here… I don’t know how Harper’s Bazaar that is,” she jokes. “I got three. This is my chic one because it only has the top. This is my plain gold. This is when I’m trying to be chill. I’m trying to blend in.”

Brown giggles, asking, “So this is your chill grill?”

“This is my chill grill!” Miley replies.
