Raven-Symonè Comes Out As A Lesbian: “Yay Government! I Can Finally Get Married!”

Raven-Symonè may have once said “my sexuality is mine,” but now the 27-year-old is seemingly sharing her sexual orientation with the world. The former Cosby kid took to Twitter on Friday to express her joy and excitement in response to the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn The Defense of Marriage Act back in June, thus legalizing same-sex marriages.

“I can finally get married!” she tweeted. “Yay government! So proud of you.”

Symone’s revelation comes in the same week that gay marriage was legalized in Minnesota and Rhode Island. But don’t think Raven is ready to walk down the aisle just yet.

“I am very happy that gay marriage is opening up around the country and is being accepted,” Symone told E! News in an exclusive statement. “I was excited to hear today that more states legalized gay marriage. I, however am not currently getting married, but it is great to know I can now, should I wish to.”

Rumors swirled about Symone’s sexuality last may when the actress stepped out with openly gay model and America’s Top Model contestant AzMarie Livingston. Yet back then, the actress refuted the rumors and begged for privacy. “I’m living my PERSONAL life the way I’m happiest,” she tweeted. “I’m not one, in my 25 year career, to disclose who I’m dating. And I shall not start now. My sexual orientation is mine, and the person I’m datings to know. I’m not one for a public display of my life. However that is my right as a HUMAN BEing whether straight or gay. To tell or not to tell. As long as I’m not harming anyone. I am a light being made from love. And my career is the only thing I would like to put on display, not my personal life. Kisses!”

Are you excited that Raven has finally come out of the closet?
