Earlier this week, we asked the question, “Is Run-DMC working with adidas again?” We asked it after adidas announced that Run-DMC and A-Trak would be working on something sometime in the near future based around a new campaign called “Unite All Originals.” And yesterday, we finally got an answer to our question. Run-DMC will be working with adidas again, even though it won’t really have a whole hell of a lot to do with sneakers. It will indirectly impact the adidas Originals brand. But Run-DMC and A-Trak are actually working on something much bigger than just a collaborative shoe or something like that.

Instead of just designing a new sneaker, Rev Run and DMC agreed to get into the studio with A-Trak recently in order to collaborate on a new song for the Unite All Originals campaign. The goal of the project is to “create a new contemporary anthem that will unite all originals.” For the project, Run-DMC and A-Trak got into the studio one day and knocked out a song that will be used for the Unite All Originals campaign. And while we don’t yet know what that song will sound like, adidas did just provide a behind-the-scenes video of Run-DMC and A-Trak in the studio for us to enjoy. You can watch it here:

What do you take away from the video? We hear what might be a pretty dope song in the making, and it’s also clear that both Run-DMC and A-Trak were honored to work with one another. If nothing else, it’s good to see someone from the old school working with someone from the new school on a project that will get some pretty good distribution thanks to adidas. We can’t wait to see what the artists were able to come up with and what adidas eventually uses the song for.

Stay tuned for more info on the song and the Unite All Originals campaign. We’re excited to hear the final product.
