Katy Perry’s Killer Queen Perfume Commercial Totally Copies Beyonce’s The Mrs Carter Show Promo Video

Watch out, Beyonce! Katy Perry is seriously eying your throne and the woman is a self-professed killer.

Less than two week ago, the 28-year-old pop singer dropped the first print ad for her fourth fragrance, Killer Queen, and now the “Firework” singer is causing, well, fireworks with the teaser for the perfume’s video promo teaser. So why do things smell a tad bit fishy? The Killer Queen commercial looks shockingly similar to the teaser Beyonce debuted back in February for “The Mrs. Carter Show” World Tour.

For starters, both ladies reign supreme posing as queens in the clips while rocking Marie Antoinette-inspired wigs. In full royal attire, King Bey and killer Katy walk towards their throne, breasts squeezed up tight near their collar bones as their royal subjects attend to their every beckon call (which includes a close-up as their royal dressers tighten their corset to ensure a teeny, tiny waste).

It’s important to note that both clips were directed by Swedish native, Jonas Akerlund, who may have been completely devoid of any new ideas, and thus decided to recycle an old one for Perry’s Killer Queen concept. Or, perhaps, the videos are unintentionally similar. But there’s no doubt that only one can inhabit the throne.

Check out Katy Perry’s Killer Queen commercial and Beyonce’s Mrs. Carter Show Tour promo below. Who do you think should rock the crown? Which diva should simply bow down?
