Did You Know That Apple iPhone’s Siri Has Favorite Sports Teams?

If you have an Apple iPhone—or an Apple iPad, for that matter—then you know just how cool Siri is. She can find out just about any information that you need to know within a matter of seconds. And she’s always there when you need her. But did you know that Siri has feelings, too? Specifically when it comes to sports teams. Even though she’s stuck inside of your iPhone, Siri has favorite teams in both college and professional sports, which is something that Oregon State college football coach Mike Riley discovered recently when he asked Siri who she likes in college football.

“I always like to root for the underdog,” she replied to him. “I guess that makes me a fan of Oregon St. right now.”

And she wasn’t just saying it because Riley was asking the question. Siri actually has favorite sports teams and will tell you all about them if you ask her. And she doesn’t favor teams from one region or part of the country, either. In college basketball, she says that she likes Oregon (which is really strange when you consider that she likes Oregon’s in-state rival Oregon State in college football). In Major League Baseball, she likes the Houston Astros (talk about liking an underdog!). In the NFL, she likes the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while she favors the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA. And in the NHL, she’s a Nashville Predators fan, and she cheers for DC United in MLS. See? She’s really well rounded when it comes to sports teams and roots for squads from all over the country.

If you have an iPhone or an iPad, go ahead and ask Siri who her favorite teams are and see what she says. We’re betting that she’ll tell you all about the teams above. But if you find that she gives you a different response—or if you find any other cool answers that she gives about other sports-related items—let us know. We’ll be over here asking her all sorts of sports questions. Siri was already really cool. But now that we know she’s a sports fans, she’s way cooler.
