For a couple of thieves in New York City, crime did pay in the whopping amount of $100,000.

Scott Storch was held up at gunpoint in Times Square on Tuesday morning around 7 a.m. Currently living in Miami, the hip-hop producer—who has created beats for Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Dr. Dre, Lil Wayne, Pink, and 50 Cent and dated Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and even Kim Kardashian—is in town for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, which air live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Sunday.

According to TMZ, ” Storch claims he was robbed outside of a NY hotel…and the gunmen threatened to kill him in the street.”

Storch, 39, and his 32-year-old companion were allegedly leaving the New York Palace hotel on Madison Avenue when two gunman approached them and later walked off with $100,000 in jewelry as well as a briefcase containing nearly $5,000 in cash. To make matters worse, the couple had just gotten out of an SUV and the robbers demanded the driver hand over the keys so they couldn’t drive and follow them.

Thankfully, no one was injured and Storch later took to Twitter to express his emotions after the disturbing event. “Thanks, we are all safe and good,” he tweeted. “Nothing can stop music, thanks to all the fans and support.”

No witnesses have come forward. Let’s just hope this story doesn’t turn out to be a hoax.
