Is LeBron James Trolling Us In This New Nike Commercial?

For years now, NBA fans have been pleading with LeBron James and asking him to please—pleeeeeeease!—take part in the NBA Dunk Contest. And while King James has thought about it on several occasions, he’s never actually taken part in it. We don’t know why, since it’s clear that he’s got more than enough talent to win the dunk contest easily. But he just won’t give the fans what they want. And at this point, we’ve basically given up on the idea of him ever taking part in a future dunk contest.

LeBron isn’t above trolling us when it comes to the dunk contest, though. In the past, he’s talked about possibly taking part in it months in advance of it and then ultimately let us down. But in a new Nike commercial called “Just Do It—Possibilities,” LeBron takes the trolling to a whole new level. In the commercial, which features athletes doing seemingly impossible things, LeBron actually takes part in a dunk contest. And, of course, he gets nothing but “10s” from the judges who are impressed by the dunk that he throws down. You can watch the new commercial here:

We have to ask: Are you serious, LeBron?! We’ve been asking you to enter the dunk contest for years now, and you give us this? We know why Nike did this. But we really wish that LeBron would stop messing around and give us what we want. WE WANT TO SEE LEBRON JAMES IN THE NBA DUNK CONTEST. It would be a huge deal, and we’re betting that NBA fans would go even wilder than the fans in this commercial did after LeBron threw down a dunk. So what do you say LeBron? This is the last time we’re going to ask. Won’t you please join the dunk contest next year? Please stop trolling us and give us the answer we’ve been waiting for for more than a decade now.
