Are The New England Patriots In Some Serious Trouble Right Now?

The first game of the 2013-14 NFL season hasn’t even been played yet. But it’s already been a really long year for the New England Patriots. Between the murder charge that Aaron Hernandez caught earlier this year for his connection to the death of a semipro football player named Odin Lloyd to the knee injury that Tom Brady suffered during a practice recently, we imagine that Patriots fans are pulling their hair out and wondering what else can go wrong right now. And after their third preseason game of the summer on Thursday night, which the Pats lost 40-9 to the Detroit Lions, we wouldn’t blame New England fans at all for being a bit on edge. It does look like they could be in for a really long season this year.

Fortunately, the Patriots still have Brady and their head coach Bill Belichick on their side. So they have the experience that it takes to ride out whatever troubles they’re facing right now and ultimately make the playoffs and enjoy a successful season. But is there a chance that this season could be a total disaster for the team? Unfortunately for Pats fans, yes. They have one of the best quarterbacks in the league—and he has more than enough weapons at his disposal—but the truth is that New England is thisclose to suffering a meltdown this season. If they suffer any more injuries on either side of the ball or if guys who were brought in to plug holes in their offense don’t produce, it could end up being a long season for the Pats.

The good news for them is that the other teams in their division aren’t very good. The Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and New York Jets all have young, inexperienced quarterbacks leading their teams. And that means that the Patriots should still be the best team in their division. But as it stands now, the Patriots aren’t a slam dunk to make the playoffs this season as they’ve been in the past. And all of the Super Bowl talk that surrounded the team just a few months ago has disappeared.

Survival is the name of the game for the Patriots right now, and they’re going to need to do everything in their power to try and take things one game at a time and overcome a lot of adversity this season in order to have a real chance to make the playoffs and win the NFL championship. Can they still do it? Sure. But it’s definitely not going to be as easy as it’s been in past season.

I make fun of the people here in Florida the fans are either going to the super bowl or their getting the 1st round pick after each game.
Stop the insanity it’s 1 game, not even a real game. I watched the pats go 4 and 0 in preseason then have 1 and 15 season. Preseason DOSEN’T mean a thing, ya you want them to play well but who’s going to remember at the end of the season. “STOP THE INSANITY”
