The Converse Chuck Taylor sneaker has obviously been around for decades now. Its classic look makes it the go-to sneaker for a lot of sneakerheads out there. And even those who don’t follow sneakers closely tend to gravitate towards the Chuck Taylor silhouette. Bottom line, you really can’t go wrong with a pair of Chuck Taylors.

Because the Chuck Taylor sneaker has been around for so long, though, we’ve seen it done up in all sorts of different colorways and seen Converse incorporate all kinds of fabrics and patterns into the sneaker. So we’re rarely surprised when we see a new Chuck Taylor come out. But even we have to admit that we were taken aback—in a good way!—when we first laid eyes on the Converse Chuck Taylor High “Rhinestone” that dropped recently. It features a beautiful all-white upper covered in rhinestones that give the sneaker a truly unique look. We would almost be afraid to put these on because of the bright white uppers. But Converse also included a coral outer sole just to switch things up and to tone down the white a bit. It all works together very nicely and proves that there are still cool new ways to outfit the Chuck Taylor sneaker.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like these particular Chuck Taylor sneakers are going to be available everywhere. Select Converse retailers are carrying them now, and we’re pretty sure that these will sell out quickly. But we like what Converse did here, and we hope that they continue to push the envelope when it comes to the Chuck Taylor silhouette. Because even though it’s been around for years now, there are still a lot of things that sneaker designers can do to make the Chuck Taylor stand out.

Do you like the Converse Chuck Taylor High “Rhinestone” sneakers? Would you wear them, or would you be too afraid to get them scuffed up? Take a look at some additional images of the sneaker below, and then let us know in the comments section.
