Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta Star Rasheeda Talks New Baby, Kirk Being A “Good Father”
Despite the problems she dealt with in her marriage during her pregnancy, Rasheeda is enjoying being a mother again. Along with spending time at home bonding with baby Karter Frost, the Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta star is working on her relationship with hubby Kirk Frost, and preparing to release new music.
I recently caught up with Rasheeda for my weekly entertainment news column to get the deets on what’s happened between her and Kirk in the weeks since the second season of LHHA came to an end, baby Karter, rumors that Scrappy has been fired from the show, and the possibility that LHH is expanding into other cities. Check out highlights below.
ON HOW KIRK HAS TAKEN TO BEING A FATHER AGAIN DESPITE HIS INITIAL REACTION TO HER PREGNANCY:
“He’s actually just amazing to be honest with you. He’s just been a great father, he’s been, you know, allowing me to get my rest as much as possible, and regardless to the fact that you can’t get past the crying that you hear from the baby, but he’s been really, really great. You know he’s always been a good father regardless of how it looked on television as far as the things he said about ‘I’m tired of raising kids,’ and whatnot, you know. He has four adult children, you know. Over 18 [years old] kids that he was more so speaking about, but as far as him in Karter’s life, he’s just been 100% just doing his damn thing.”
ON THE NEW BABY:
“He’s great, he’s absolutely great! He’s just a handsome little angel. Of course you know the first month – we haven’t reached our first month yet – but yeah, it’s rough. It’s every three hours. Doesn’t matter the time. Twelve midnight, three in the morning, six, nine, twelve, it’s no joke.”
ON LOVE & HIP-HOP EXPANDING INTO OTHER CITIES:
“I heard all of that, and I’m like, ‘okay, I see they looking to maybe milk the cow,’ and hopefully they making the right decision on that. All I know is Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta is Atlanta, and I don’t know about the rest of them places, but we got that thing on lock over here. That’s all I can say.”
ON RUMORS ABOUT CHANGES TO THE CAST:
“Well you can’t even believe everything that you hear, but you never really know. I will tell you it’s going to be some changes, but you know, you’ll just have to see what the real deal is because every time I turn around, there’s somebody that they’re claiming is going to be on here, somebody that quote, allegedly done got ‘the boot’, you know. And don’t nobody know what the hell they be talking about until them credits roll, ‘This is the Life’ start playing, and the show airs. Other than that, just be ready to see what goes on for [season] 3 because you never know.”
