Rita Ora Is A Femme Fatale For S Moda And Says “Beyonce Impressed Me More Than Jay-Z”
Even with one eye completely shut, it’s not hard to see that Rita Ora is red hot on S Moda‘s October 2013 issue.
Shot by British fashion photographer Damon Baker, the Roc Nation singer stuns inside the Spanish publication and dishes on her sophomore album. “My main goal is to make a great pop record,” Ora said. “I worked with Dev Hynes, who has also worked with Solange Knowles and Florence and The Machine, whom I consider a genius, and Snoop Dogg Snoop Lion-ex, which is very cool , a family man, relaxed, good person. I like to live in your world.”
In addition to Hynes and Snoop Lion, the 22-year-old artist also gushed about being compared to Gwen Stefani (“I accept that comparison with open arms! But never pretend to climb over it. I was introduced once and I found a gorgeous woman”) and her first encounter with Beyonce. “[I met] Beyoncé after joining Roc Nation and [she] impressed me more than her husband Jay Z. I used to copy him, study everything,” she confessed. “When I met her I said I was extremely grateful to have grown up with it as a model. Beyoncé told me not to be silly. It has helped keep me sane.”
One person Rita had no kind words for was her ex-boyfriend Rob Kardashian, who publicly accused her of being unfaithful on Twitter. “I stopped reading magazines and blogs,” Ora admitted. “At first, I looked at everything. What went wrong. But I’ve realized that you can not like the whole world. What matters to me is that people leave my concerts glad. Many use the networks to release their aggression, but I always wonder: why not stick a fist into the wall?”
