Derrick Rose Gets His Own adidas Originals Superstar 80s “D Rose” Sneaker
Pretty soon, adidas will be releasing their adidas D Rose 4 sneaker to the world. The sneaker, which was created to be the fourth signature sneaker for Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose, is the crowned jewel of the adidas Basketball collection as D Rose is the most popular NBA player that adidas has on their roster right now (sorry, Dwight Howard!). But before adidas lets the adidas D Rose 4 loose, they’ve got another “D Rose” sneaker to present to the world. That sneaker? The adidas Originals Superstar 80s “D Rose” sneaker.
adidas released the Superstar 80s “D Rose” sneaker to help Rose celebrate his 25th birthday on Friday. It features Rose’s favorite colors, black and blue, on the upper part of the sneaker, a 1988 tag on the heel that represents the year Rose was born, and a gold stamp of Rose’s face on the tongue of the sneaker. This is a good example of a sneaker company using an athlete on their roster to the max. adidas could have very easily just shouted Rose out on their Twitter or something in order to wish him a happy birthday. But instead, they created a special lifestyle sneaker to make the most of their relationship with him.
You can check out additional images of the adidas Originals Superstar 80s “D Rose” sneaker below. It went on sale on Friday in limited quantities and can be purchased through select adidas retailers. What do you think about the sneaker? Did adidas do a good job of making Rose’s 25th birthday special? Is there anything that you think they should have done to the sneaker to make it even more special? Are you going to pick up a pair of these in order to help adidas and Rose celebrate? Let us know in the comments section below. One thing is for sure: These sneakers are not going to last very long. So if you want a pair, go and pick them up now.
