Denver Broncos Are A 28 Point Favorite Against Jacksonville Jaguars

This is a testament to both how awesome the Denver Broncos are and how awful the Jacksonville Jaguars have been.

The Las Vegas sports books have set the point spread between the Broncos and the Jags at a record 28 points heading into their week six showdown.

Twenty-eight points!

That means that the Denver Broncos are expected to win by four touchdowns. Most teams don’t score four touchdowns in an entire game, but the high octane offense in Denver led by Peyton Manning is expected to score more than that. But it’s not just the Broncos supercharged ability to put numbers on the board, it is the pathetic Jags and their inability to reach pay dirt.

“The Jaguars are just so awful, and the interest in betting on the Broncos has been pretty consistent,” Jay Kornegay, who runs the sports book at the Las Vegas Hotel, said Sunday night according to ESPN. “There’s a group of us here who put together the lines for each week, and it took us 10-15 minutes to debate what this number would be. Some folks didn’t feel that good about making history with this.”

Let’s be clear, the Jags stink to the highest degree. They’ve been outscored this season 163-51 after five games. It means they are averaging a hair over ten points per contest. On the flipside, the Broncos are unbeaten and outscoring their opponents 230-139. They are averaging 46 points per game. Based on the averages alone, the Broncos should win by about 36 points. It’s downright ridiculous.
It appears that the only thing that can stop the Broncos from winning by four touchdowns is if they go up big early and pull their starters at halftime. It’s very possible. Aside from that, expect yet another nasty drubbing that would make the NCAA wince in pain.
