While Khloe Kardashian‘s marriage to Lamar Odom and impending divorce have been making headlines for months, her mother may have been watching her own love life break down before her very eyes. Kris Jenner, 57, and her husband Bruce Jenner, 63 have announced their separation to E! News.

“We are living separately and we are much happier this way,” they said in a statement. “But we will always have much love and respect for each other. Even though we are separated, we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain our number one priority. We ended a marriage, but that’s not the end of our friendship. I will always love him, but we are no longer a couple in that way.

Rumor has it that the couple has been split for the past year but decided to keep it quiet. But in April, Kris took to Instagram to proclaim her long lasting love for her Olympian hubbie. “Happy Anniversary Bruce!!!!” Kris wrote on Instagram. “Best 22 years I could ever have imagined…hope the next 22 is even more fabulous…I love you!”

Last year, the momager appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and gushed about her marriage while dispelling divorce rumors. “That is the most ridiculous…we’ve been married almost 22 years,” Kris said. “We fight all the time. Everybody fights after 21 years, but he kind of stays away, gets to the golf course and tries to stay out of my way.”

Guess Bruce will be staying out of Kris’ way for good. Are you surprised by this couple’s split?
